ASM: 10 Years and Beyond

While we celebrate today the 10th anniversary of ASM, we must understand that ASM was a creation borne out of a strategic partnership that started more than 2 decades ago.  It was sometime in 1986 when the first group of Filipino seafarers embarked on board St. Paul River owned by Capt. Alfred Hartmann.  This was an event that spawned a relationship which was responsible in developing the Filipino seafarers as an important element in the Hartmann Group and the establishment of ISNTC in 1999 and ASM in 2002.

This relationship that has brought mutual benefits to both parties especially in the first decade of this millennium that has seen the expansion of the maritime fleet burst into numbers we will never again see in our lifetime.   The Hartmann Group now stands as one of the biggest privately owned shipping company in Germany while Filipino seafarers  have reached numbers and achieved ranks which we never thought possible a decade ago.

We also salute our shore staff in both ASM and ISNTC who have remain loyal for 10 years and more.  It has been their  loyalty and dedication to work that  has brought us to where we are now.  You can be proud to say that we have a company that is the envy of others, built on the hard work and dedication of workers empowered to be the best they can be.

Today, we are at the crossroads of more challenging times with the current crisis in the shipping industry. The relationship will now be put to test.  But a relationship that is anchored on trust and professionalism knows no boundaries.
